NATIONAL DOCKS - JETDOCK™ ANY-POINT ATTACHMENT™
TOOLS NEEDED
- Cordless Drill w/ Charged Battery
- Jet Dock Tool Kit
- Large Pair of Channel Locks
- WD-40
- Socket Wrench
- ¾” Socket
- Socket Extender
Objective: Please read before beginning installation! During most JetDock installations, the preferred method of affixing the JetDock™ to the fixed dock is to use ropes. This solution eliminates replacing ropes or listening to them squeak while enjoying the waterfront lifestyle. By utilizing the existing fastener pin and the corresponding nylon nut that holds each block of the JetDock™ together, you will simply use that existing fastener pin and nylon nut to affix each end of your new Any-Point Attachment System™ securely onto the JetDock™. This system guarantees that the attachment to your fixed dock is on-center every time to the mooring pole.
Note: Prior to starting the installation, determine the appropriate number of attachment points that you are comfortable with securing your boat while stored on the JetDock™. You want to minimize the movement of your JetDock™ when you are loading and unloading your boat from the JetDock™. This will maximize stability and reduce movement. National Docks suggests a minimum of 3 (3) Any-Point Attachment Systems™ for boats larger than seventeen feet (17’).
Step-1: Temporarily detach the PVC pole from your piling, slip the Any-Point Attachment System™ hole over the PVC, and slide down to water level. Note: We suggest you tie a rope or heavy test fishing line off to the Any-Point Attachment System™ to prevent it from slipping under the water out of easy reach. You may now re-fasten the PVC pole back to your piling and move on to the next step.
Step: 2 Carefully remove the black fastener pin by using the JetDock tool kit. The fastener pin goes through each outside joint where the JetDock™ blocks meet. Each pin is attached underneath by a nylon nut that threads from the bottom. Using a drill or a socket wrench, reverse the nut off the fastener pin and remove it completely. This is where you will install the first end of your Any-Point Attachment System™. Note: Use caution not to lose the tool or the nylon nut you loosen. You must remove the fastener pin and the nylon nut completely in order to properly attach the Any-Point System™.
Step-2: Once the fastener pin is removed from the adjoining cubes, align the Any-Point Attachment System™ above the hole and re-insert the fastener pin through the Any-Point System™ and back into the cube corners. You should make sure the fastener pin extends through the Any-Point Attachment System™ and the JetDock™ block corner connectors so that each component is secured by the fastener pin when you go to re-tighten the nylon nut. The Any-Point Attachment should be perpendicular at a 90-degree angle to the JetDock™ once tightened adequately.
Step-3: Repeat Step-1: at the other end of the Any-Point Attachment System and follow the same steps in Step-2:
Step-4: If installed properly, the new Any-Point Attachment System™ should be firmly attached to the JetDock™ as shown below using the fastener pins and is now ready for final alignment. Using your socket set, loosen the Any-Point System™ Tide-Guide that you placed over the PVC pole to align the connection directly adjacent to your fixed dock piling. Now tighten each stainless steel nut and bolt tight.
Caution: If you do not tighten the stainless bolts and nuts appropriately on the Tide-Guide™, the Any-Point Attachment may slide during the loading and unloading of your vessel. Done properly it should like the image below. Congratulations!
